Scaphognathus
Scaphognathus was a flying pterosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, about 150 million years ago in what is now Europe. Scaphognathus had a wingspan of 3 feet in length. It had a short head with a fairly rounded, blunt snout, giving rise to its name of “tub-jaw”. It was closely related to Rhamphorhynchus, and also one of the first pterosaurs to be found in 1831. It had 18 long, sharp-pointed teeth in the upper jaw and 10 in the lower jaw. Scaphognathus skulls show that pterosaurs had large brains for their body size.
