Liaoningopterus
As you might have guessed, the "liaoning" in Liaoningopterus refers to China's famous Liaoning fossil beds, where paleontologists have found numerous pterosaurs, feathered dinosaurs and prehistoric birds dating from the early Cretaceous period. One of the largest pterosaurs ever discovered in China, with a wingspan of about 15 feet, Liaoningopterus appears to have been most closely related to the South American Anhanguera, which also had crests on both sides of its beak (bear in mind that individual genera of pterosaurs may have had wider distributions than indicated by the fossil record). As with Anhanguera, the long, tooth-studded beak of Liaoningopterus points to a diet of fish, which it speared while flying low over the water.
