Germanodactylus

Germanodactylus

Germanodactylus “German finger” lived during the Late Jurassic period, 150 million years ago. It had a wingspan of 4 feet 5 inches, a short tail and a low, head crest. The bony crest spread from the forehead to halfway along the beak and was covered with horn. Germanodactylus also showed the gradual evolution of the pterodactyl family group – an even longer narrower beak, with fewer or even no teeth. Germanodactylus had short peg-like teeth, but the front of its beak was toothless, tapering to a horn-covered tip.
